King Faisal University (KFU)

King Faisal University (KFU) was established in 1975 in the City of Hofuf at the Province of Alahsa in the Eastern Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Alahsa is considered the largest date palm oasis in the world. KFU Campus occupies an area of approximately 6.000.000 square meter. Its main Research and Training Center occupies an area of approximately 4.000.000 square meter. The university includes 16 colleges, 10 Supportive Deanships, 21 Scientific Research Centers and Supportive Entities and 27 Administrative and Service Entities. The total number of students reached 40,229 (36% males and 64% females). In addition, 126,296 students are registered in distance and e learning. The Faculty staff is about 1924 (60% males and 40% females). KFU over the years has developed many partnerships and collaborations with national and international institutions, organizations and agencies in academic, scientific research and services issues. In addition to its vision, mission, and strategic objectives that all address excellence, leadership, quality, transparency, justice, innovation, institutionalism loyalty and lifelong learning values, KFU in parallel thrives to consolidate its identity in substantially contributing to food security and environmental sustainability.
