Khamis Mushait Elementary School Teachers’ Use of Active Learning When Teaching a Language

(Khalil Mohammed Abdullah Al-Omair)

Abstract

This study aims to understand to what extent elementary school teachers in the province of Khamis Mushait use active learning elements in their classes. A random sample of 74 teachers was chosen. To achieve this purpose, the researcher developed Notes Cards, which consist of 21 paragraphs. The validity and reliability of this study tool were verified. The iterations, mathematical rates, standard deviations, Alpha Kronbach and Pearson correlation coefficient were calculated, and a T-test and one-way ANOVA analysis was conducted. This study finds that the extent to which elementary school teachers in Khamis Mushait incorporate active learning elements in their lessons is low. Furthermore, at a 0.05 significance level, there are no statistically significant differences in the degree to which teachers with different educational qualifications and years of service apply active learning elements in their classes. This study suggests that incorporating active learning elements enhances teacher performance.
