(Abdul Mohsen Bin Hussein Arfag)

Abstract

It is important to identify the satisfaction degree of disabled individuals regarding the services they obtained to ensure equal opportunities with normal persons. The objective of this study is to identify the needs of disabled people in Alahsa and to assess their level of satisfaction regarding the provided services offered by governmental, private, and charity organizations. In addition, it tries to determine whether their needs and satisfaction vary based using some categorization variables including type of disability, gender, age, and family monthly income. The study is based on a questionnaire applied to 130 sample. The questionnaire was tested for stability. Results, in general, suggested that disabled people in Alahsa are in need of all services reported in this study. Social and recreational needs were the least important while economical needs were first in priority. In addition, the level of satisfaction, in general, was moderate. Insignificant differences in disability type were detected regarding the differences of services based on provider type except for the cost of service, which was considered cheap by high-income individuals. The work recommends that disabled individuals' scientific and professional qualifications must be developed in addition to enabling their health status follow-up and deploying modern technology in their services. Key Words: Economic services, Educational services, Performance monitoring, Recreational services.
