Instructional Technology Role in Distance Learning Programs in some Sudanese Universities' Faculties of Education from the Specialists' Point of View

Abstract

Distance education plays an active role in achieving educational goals. This study aimed to identify the opinions of instructional technology specialists regarding the role of the instructional technology in distance education system adopted in the college of Education in some Sudanese universities. To achieve this objective the researcher designed a questionnaire which focused on specialists' opinions. The questionnaire was tested for validity and stability then distributed among twenty six specialists. A descriptive analysis methodology has been used. The study revealed the existence of positive opinions towards utilization of the instructional technology in distance learning programs among the specialists in the Sudan universities. There were no statistically significant differences due to qualifications. However, the study indicated the existence of significant statistical differences due to years of experience in the field of education in favor of high experience. The study recommended that a center for educational technology should be established to handle the processes of employing educational technology in distance education programs.
