Department Heads’ Use of Distributed Leadership and its Role in Fostering Organizational Loyalty among Academics at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University

Abstract

Organizational loyalty is the key to the success of organizations, especially educational organizations. The study aimed at revealing the degree of practice among heads of departments at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University for distributed leadership and measuring the level of organizational loyalty among faculty members. It used the descriptive method, and the questionnaire was the study tool after checking stability and validity. The study reached 304 members. The results of the study showed that the degree of practice of the heads of departments at the University of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal for distributed leadership came to a high degree, and the level of organizational loyalty among the faculty members was very high, There was a significant positive correlation between the degree of practice of the department chairs for distributed leadership and the level of organizational loyalty of faculty members. The study recommended the practice of distributed leadership, thus raising the level of organizational loyalty. Keywords: leadership, moral loyalty, emotional loyalty, continuous loyalty
