Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the perceptions of teachers toward building schools For adult Learners. Adult learners use elementary intermediate and Secondary Schools for their programs, which most of the time do not meet their requirements and needs, because of their age and methods of learning. The sample of the study consisted of 329 elementary to high school teachers. The instrument of the study was the questionnaire. The results of the study showed that there is an agreement among teachers to design and build schools for adult learners that will enable them to practice their educational, and social activities in the school building away from day time schools, which would be a center for continuing education. Teachers agreed that schools should be prepared to receive and welcome adult learners. The study recommended that the schools should be built specially for adult learners. The lighting and ventilation should be suitable for adult learners, availability of a library, a garden and recreation facility should be available. Maintenance work on the other hand, should be carried out regularly.
