  A nanocomposite including a water-soluble nano-polymer and mesoporous silica nanoparticles encapsulated with an azole derivative can be used an antifungal agent against a wide range of phytopathogenic fungi. The azole derivative has the following structural formula ##STR00001## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of OMe and H; wherein R.sub.1 is OMe; and wherein R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of H and Cl.
