Parents’ Attitudes towards Effectiveness of Kindergarten Programs in Mafraq City

Abstract

Kindergarten child acquires Linguistic, behavioral, and social skills. This phase contributes to the formation of attitudes towards the educational process throughout the programs provided by kindergartens, which should include a variety of integrated activities to achieve healthy growth for children in all aspects. This study aimed to identify parents’ attitudes towards the effectiveness of kindergarten programs in Mafraq city, Jordan, and check for differences due to their personal variables. The population of the study consists of all parents of children (1650 children) who enrolled in institutions of kindergarten of the Directorate of Kasabaht Al-Mafraq in Mafraq, Jordan, during 2016. The sample consisted of (200) parents of kindergarten children selected randomly. The data was collected through a questionnaire about parents’ attitudes towards the effectiveness of kindergarten programs after verification of its validity and reliability. The results of the study showed that there were high level of parents’ attitudes towards effectiveness of Kindergarten programs in Mafraq. There was no significant difference in the parents’ attitudes due to the variables of (gender, age, educational qualification, or the type of work). The researcher recommended the necessity of developing kindergarten institutions programs to promote social aspects in kindergarten child. Key Words: Early childhood, Integrated child development.
