The Level of Awareness of Safety and Security Rules for the Students and Staff at King Faisal University

Abstract

This study is a part of the global attitude to increase awareness on the issues of safety in societies' institutions. Specifically, this study aimed to measure the level of awareness of safety issues among students and staff in the King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia. The sample of the study consisted of (96) students in the faculties of Science and Pharmacy, and (30) employees who work in the field of safety and security, all of them were subjected to the examination prepared to achieve the purpose of the study. The results showed low level of awareness of safety rules among students and employees of the university. It also showed statistically insignificant differences between the mean values of the students' grades in the faculty of pharmacy and science, as well as between the employees of the university. The results did not show significant differences between male and female students of the faculty of science. The study recommended that the university program must focus on safety issues by including courses of relevant concepts in addition to organizing workshops and special courses for students and employees.
