Obstacles Against Executing the Computerized Activities in the First Three Grades Textbooks, from the Teachers’ Perspectives

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the obstacles perceived by teachers when executing textbooks computerized activities for the first three grades. To obtain the needed data, the researchers constructed a 47 items questionnaire distributed into five domains. The validity and reliability were obtained using proper procedures, the sample of the study included 680 teachers. The study was carried out in the first semester of 2010 – 2011 academic year in the schools of Irbid Directorate of Education. The results revealed the presence of high level of obstacles from teachers’ perceptions. The obstacles were related to the schools, students, family, textbooks and to the teachers. The results also revealed non-significant statistical differences among teachers’ perspectives due to their gender, the grade they teach, their teaching experience, and their computer experience. Furthermore, there were statically significant differences among teachers’ perspectives due to the teachers’ qualifications in favor of the B.A. holders.
