Emotional Intelligence for some Students with Learning Disabilities in Resource Room

Abstract

Students with learning disabilities are exposed to educational problems due to the variability in their physical, mental, and emotional development. This study aimed to identify the level of emotional intelligence for students with learning disabilities. The sample of the study consisted of (72) students with learning disabilities from the age group (10-12) years old. The study adopted and modified Al-Didi scale of emotional intelligence, which consisted of (63) item designed to measure the level of emotional intelligence for students. The modified scale was applied after testing for stability and validity. The results of the study showed that the means of emotional intelligence items ranged from (1.26-4.67). Most of the scale items effects were average followed by the high effect. The study recommend directing teachers' attention to the importance of emotional inelegance and train them on its evaluation methods. Key words: Disabled students, Multiple intelligence.
