Factors Affecting Saudi Universities Physical Education Students Absence Based on some variables from their Point of View

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the factors affecting physical education students absence in the Saudi universities from their point of view. It also aimed to identify differences in these factors, in accordance with the following variables: University, Appreciation of school, residence, and school year. Descriptive method was used to achieve the objectives of the study. A tool was prepared, tested, and then applied to a sample of 129 students. The stability factor reached 0.91. The most important factor causing student absence was the cultural factor that came in the first order with an average of 2.36. This was followed by study group factor with an average of 2.18. The economic factor followed with an average of 2.12, while personal factor came next with an average of 2.09. Finally, the family factor averaged 1.93. The results confirmed the existence of statistically significant differences between the factors causing absence due to the university. Therefore, the researcher made several recommendations including; the activation of students guidance and counseling in the universities, in addition to conducting seminars and awareness- rising activities.
