Abstract

Verdict requesting is an important process that was reported in many manuscripts as it sets rules of newly emerged religious issues. This work aimed to clarify the ruling of verdict requesting in the areas of practical religious activities. The work was composed of a preface, an introduction, and then it discussed the ruling of verdict when non-scholar, a starting scholar, or a prominent scholar asked for it. The main finding indicated that, in cases of non-scholar, inquiries should be directed to a scholar for verdict. The majority of scholars advise to accept the verdict even if the scholar did not indicate its evidences. In case of requests from a starting scholar, fundamentalist varied in their opinion. To our knowledge, if the starting scholar failed to reach a verdict, then he should request it from prominent scholars, but still obliged to search the issue as much as he can. In the case of prominent scholar enquiry, he is prohibited form asking other scholars or use their verdict. The prominent scholar can use another scholar's verdict in a specific case if he has no time to examine it thoroughly, he could not reach a verdict after examining it, the case was intercepted with other cases, or when he could not obtain conclusive dependable evidence. Key Words: Non-scholar, Prominent scholar, Starting scholar.
