Prevailing Values System among Al-Balqa Applied University’s Students

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the nature of the prevailing values system among Al- Balqa Applied University’s students. The work applied arabic translated Schwartz values scale to a sample of (660) students. The results showed that the most important values among students were; health care, helping others, wisdom, national security, intelligence and creativity, religious, commitment, curiosity, freedom, independence, self-fulfillment, justice and respect for parents. The researchers recommend further studies on the values at other variables such as : age, economic level and educational level. Key Words: Schwartz scale, Undergraduate student values, values system.
