Abstract

Marriage contract of the most important and critical type of contracts as it results in lineage mixing, family formation, and stability of the human race. Therefore, it is necessary to secure the elements of stability from the beginning of marriage process. Equivalency between the married couple, due to their closeness in basic social aspects, is one of the elements that is relied on for marriage stability. In this study, equivalency is examined in terms of its importance, adapting to Fiqh doctrinal Methods, the relationship of its qualities with convention and legitimately considered interest, in addition to its related provisions in connection with contemporary reality and practical application.
