Abstract

The aim of Islamic Shari a is to preserve human life an dprohibit bloodshed. Basically, human blood is prohibited and human life is respected. For this reason, Shari a rules have specified the conditions in which enemy soldiers can be killed while fighting, and non-soldiers whose life must be preserved. The criterion is that any person not engaged in battle is secure and any fighter who surrenders, or keeps away from fighting for whatever reason that can attest that he is turning away from fighting, is also immune from harm.
