Abstract

This study analysis the key issues that influnce the growth and development of small and mediume firms in the area of Makkah Almukarama in Saudi Arabia. The study outlines the factors that are dominant in this sector and explore the effect it has on the Saudi economy. This study documented the striking changes in the size structure of small and mediume firms in Makkah which have taken place over the past thirty years. On the basis of trends which is observed, the study concluded that: the smal firm sector is in a state of long-term increase, both in size and in its importance of the Saudi economy.
