Abstract

The goal of this study is to analyze the importance of investment tourism sector in the Saudi economy with a concentration on the tourism activities in Makkah Province. In order to achieve the aforementioned goal, the qualitative analysis approach was adopted through researches and data that related to the Saudi economy. Throughout the analysis, the tourism sector was shown that its plays an importance role in the Kingdom economy. The tourism sector was found that it came after the oil and manufacturing sectors respectively, in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) sharing. In addition, the study was shown that the average sharing of tourism investment in total investment level in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia was similar to the average international level. Regarding Makkah province, it was found that Makkah province came first in attracting tourists compare to other provinces in Saudi Arabia. Makkah province also had most of services facilities among other areas in the kingdom. Obstacles of tourism investment were covered in the study.
