Abstract

This paper investigates the political dimensions of the declaration of Bahra and Hidda border agreements in Um Al-quroun near Bahra in the year 1344Hijra 1925A between King Abdulaziz and Jordan and Iraq signed on their behalf by the mandate power, Great Britain. The two originally border agreements influenced the political events in Hijaz, namely the besiege of Al-Shareef Ali bin Al-Husein and his government in Makkah. Upon signing these two agreements on 14 and 15 Rabi Al-Thani 1344H, 1 and 2 November 1925A.D., King Abdulaziz rushed to announce this event to the public, which demoralized Al-Shareef Ali bin Al-Husein and his followers.
