Abstract

This paper aims to: (1) demonstrate the level of English (as a foreign language) of Saudi students studying at some public and private intermediate and secondary schools of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; (2) find out if there are statistically significant differences at the level of English between Saudi students of public intermediate and secondary schools on the one hand, and Saudi students of private intermediate and secondary schools on the other; (3) offer some suggestions that may help uplift Saudi students’ linguistic level of the English language.
