(Atef Abdullah Bahrawi)

Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the effect of the training and orientation program in improving the quality of the professional lives of trainees with intellectual disabilities. The study was conducted on a sample of 21 Intellectual Disability Trainers. They were nominated for training in the King Faisal University Rehabilitation Project during the academic year 2019–20. The study tool was used to determine the quality of their professional lives while the training and preparation program measured the quality of the professional lives of the trainees with intellectual disabilities, prepared by the researcher, where the validity of the tool was calculated and proven. The Mann Whitney U Test was used for independent samples and the Wilcoxon Rank Sum Test for samples with common characteristics. Post the implementation of the training program, it was discovered that there was a significant improvement in the training and professional preparation skills of the members of the experimental group. The results recommended conducting studies on training and vocational training programs for girls with intellectual disabilities to further the research.
