Innovation in the Modern Products of Islamic Art as a Starting Point to Confirm its Leading Role Globally

(Tarek Ismail Mohamed)

Abstract

Islamic art emerged with the spread of Islam in many countries that have been major cultural focal points since ancient times, including Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Spain, China, India, Iran, etc. The cultures and arts of these countries merged with the ideas and teachings of the new religion, resulting in the creation of new types of art of great privacy and, simultaneously, brought about universal values that influenced the pioneers of art and design in the 19th and 20th centuries. With the global development of design science and the emergence of significant creations, which consecutively led to great human development, these products bearing the character and concepts of Islam are reappearing with new aesthetic and traditional values consistent with the spirit of both the modern era and the third millennium to create a universal impact. Furthermore, this research delves into the innovation and continuity of Islamic art and its works, in both the past and present, to provide new visual artistic values, such as aesthetical ideals, functional usability, etc., that will be a beacon and a guide to the developers of art and design in today's world, and an affirmation of the vital role of Islamic art in the modern era.
